Overview & First Impressions
The color is deeper and darker in real life, leaning more wine-toned than the red-leaning burgundy shown online.
The fabric feels soft and velvet-like, which gives the jacket a slightly dressier look.
One thing worth noting – the jacket arrived quite wrinkled, and even after a good steam, some of the creases remained.
Details & Construction
The jacket is fully lined, which gives it a bit more structure and makes it feel a bit more substantial.
I really like the buttons; they’re covered in the same fabric as the jacket, making the piece look more elevated.
The jacket also comes with a matching extra spare button, which is always a plus.
Fit & Sizing
I ordered my usual size S.
The jacket is fitted, and the length hits just above the hips, giving it a slightly shorter, more tailored look — which I personally like.
If you also prefer a tailored silhouette, sticking with your usual size should work well. For a more relaxed fit, or if you plan to layer up, going up one size would be a better option as there isn’t much extra room.
Measurements
- Chest width: 90cm
- Shoulders: 82cm
- Jacket (back) length: 52cm
- Sleeve length: 59cm
Composition
Shell: 100% viscose
Lining: 55% polyester, 45% viscose
Fabric & Weight
This is a lightweight jacket, best suited for early autumn or mild transitional weather. The fabric isn’t thick, so it doesn’t provide much warmth, but it works well as a light layer.
As mentioned earlier, the material does wrinkle easily and tends to attract dust. It’s definitely more of a style piece than a practicality-focused one.
Final Thoughts
The color is beautiful, the details feel well thought out, and the jacket works nicely as a lightweight transitional piece. But the tendency to wrinkle is quite a downside. Overall, I was more impressed with the matching skirt, but if you’re looking for a fitted jacket in this color and fabric — or want to complete the matching set — this is still a solid option.
Notes
This jacket is part of a matching set, which also includes a skirt and corduroy trousers.
